THE PROJECTS – Caribbean Animated Ideas
Over the past 15 years, Animae Caribe has provided a platform for learning and sharing to push the limits of our creativity and encourage the development of Caribbean animated content. We have seen projects come to life both with support from the festival and organically. For the first time in its 15 year history the festival will feature six investment ready IP projects coming out of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. With a diaspora driven crowdfunding platform and a pitching podium at the festival “The Fish Hook” (yes it’s an unapologetic play on the Shark Tank programme), we are supporting young entrepreneurs in their attempts to get Caribbean content on the world.
ApuraNetworks is our official crowdfunding partner for the AC Projects. The organisation is an online Crowdfunding & Networking platform with a heart for the Caribbean and its diapora. Apura’s mission is the creation of social value and impact by offering alternative ways to fund creative & social projects. Its online global diasporic community of Caribbean people are preparing to support all six projects for phase two of the Animae Caribe Animated Ideas Bootcamp project. This is a regionally funded campaign to foster the development of Caribbean IP in animation supported by Caribbean Development Bank and Caribbean Export Development Agency.
In collaboration with Animae Caribe, we are committed to reliability and openness and have established a 100%-transparency policy. All six projects will be heavily featured at this year’s festival and at the EXPO.
