Animae Caribe Festival is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Toon Room, making it the festival's official Toon Talk Platform for 2026 and beyond. Carded for 26th to 30th June 2026, this collaboration opens the doors for Caribbean students, young artists, animators, game developers, filmmakers, and digital creatives to join a truly global community where ideas, experiences, and opportunities are shared across borders.
Founded by Alexandru Curilov out of Moldova Europe, affectionately known as the "Toon Room Key Master," Toon Room has quickly become an international meeting space for animation professionals, creators, educators, and emerging talent. Through live conversations, workshops, masterclasses, and community engagement, Toon Room connects artists from every corner of the world, creating a vibrant ecosystem where creativity thrives. Animae Caribe is especially proud to be the first festival in the world to officially partner with Toon Room, bringing this innovative platform to Caribbean audiences. For us, it represents a major step forward in ensuring that our region's talent is not only seen but actively engaged in global conversations shaping the future of animation and digital entertainment.
This year's Toon Talks promise to be bigger than ever. Festival attendees will have exclusive access to industry leaders and world-class creators, including Brad Schiff from LAIKA, who will take audiences behind the scenes of the highly anticipated film Wildwood, sharing insights into the artistry, craftsmanship, and storytelling that make LAIKA productions so special. We are also excited to welcome Tyree Dillihay, director of Sony Pictures Animation's GOAT, who will discuss his creative journey and offer valuable advice for aspiring filmmakers and storytellers. Audiences will also hear from the creators behind the acclaimed animated film The Girl Who Cried Pearls, Academy Award-winning directors Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski.
As technology reshapes the creative landscape, Toon Room will also host important discussions on Artificial Intelligence and its impact on digital entertainment. Leading these conversations will be global AI pioneer Renee Cummings, whose work sits at the intersection of technology, ethics, innovation, and creativity. These sessions will explore both the opportunities and challenges AI presents for artists, studios, and the future workforce. For 25 years, Animae Caribe has worked to connect Caribbean talent with global audiences. Partnering with the Toon Room, we are taking that mission to the next level. The conversation is happening and now, the Caribbean has a seat at the table. Welcome to the Toon Room at Animae Caribe Festival 2026. Welcome to the future.
